Kendall AMD foam dressing 10x20 cm 10 pcs
Kendall AMD Foam, schuimverband met PHMB; voor de behandeling van matig tot sterk vochtafgevende wonden tegen infectie.
Het steriel, zachte, polyurethaan schuimverband heeft een hoog absorptievermogen. Het wondverband heeft PHMB (polyhexamethyleen biguanide) als antimicrobieel bestanddeel. PHMB biedt weerstand aan bacteriële kolonisatie in het verband. PHMB vermindert het doordringen van bacteriën door het verband. Door de toevoeging van 0.5% PHMB heeft het wondverband een breed-spectrum werking; biedt bescherming tegen gram negatieve, gram positieve en sporenvormende microorganismen inclusief MRSA (bacterie, methicilline resistent staphylococcus aurus) en VRE (bacterie, vancomycine resistente enterokok). De kruis-contaminatie (besmetting) van patiënt tot patiënt, patiënt tot verzorgende en patiënt tot omgeving wordt beperkt.
Het wondverband sluit de wond niet af en laat lucht door. De kleine poriën zorgen ervoor dat het vocht vastgehouden wordt en er geen maceratie (verweking) ontstaat. Het wondverband voegt zich naar de contouren van het wondbed; is dus geschikt voor moeilijk te verbinden wonden en wondholtes. Het verband verkleeft niet met de wond, bij verbandwisseling is er geen beschadiging van nieuw weefsel en geen pijn. Het verband is gemakkelijk aan te brengen; beide zijden zijn gelijk, het verband wordt altijd goed aangebracht.

Instructions for use
Preparation
- If necessary, clean the wound site using a non-toxic cleansing solution or saline solution.
- Thoroughly rinse and dry the wound and the surrounding skin before applying the dressing.
Application
- Select a dressing size that provides an overlap around the entire wound.
- Apply the dressing to the wound.
- Secure the dressing using a wound film, gauze bandage roll, elastic bandage, conforming bandage, tape or another suitable secondary dressing.
Removal / Dressing Changes
- Due to the dressing's high absorption capacity, it needs to be changed less frequently.
- The frequency of dressing changes depends on the nature and condition of the wound and the amount of exudate.
- For clean, shallow wounds without signs of saturation or infection, the dressing may remain in place for up to one week.
- The dressing should be changed when signs of saturation become visible along the edges of the dressing, or when replacement is clinically indicated.
- Remove the secondary dressing, tape or other fixation material, and carefully lift the dressing away from the wound.
Warning
- The dressing is not intended for deep burns.
