The VMRD IgG test provides fast, reliable and more accurate results than visually interpreting the test strips. The test strips are user-friendly, they can be stored at room temperature and can be read with the VMRD reader that is also used for SAA determination. The VMRD reader gives quantitative results in a range from 0 mg/DL up to > 1000 mg/DL. 

Importance of measuring the IgG levels
Measuring the IgG level is a vital part of any neonatal foal examination, whether the foal appears healthy or is showing signs of illness. Inadequate absorption of IgG from colostrum during the first hours of life significantly increases the risk of severe infections. Point-of-care IgG testing enables timely administration of oral and/or intravenous therapies, providing essential antibodies to support the foal in combating infections.
