HP Enteral Nutrition is a nasogastric feed for horses, providing essential support when normal feeding is not possible. It is rich in rapidly and easy absorbable energy and high‑quality proteins.
HP Enteral Nutrition is very low in fat and delivers a balanced temporary nutrition for sick or recovering horses. The fat content of HP Enteral Nutrition is very low (<0,1%), which makes it the ideal nutritional support in cases of hyperlipaemia. HP Enteral Nutrition is easy to prepare and provided in a 1 kg pack designed for easy storage and use in veterinary clinics.
Instructions for use
The amount of HP Enteral Nutrition and water requirement depends on the weight of the horse. The dosing table (see Downloads) shows the respective amounts. The amount of water is the total water requirement per day, in case of fluid administration via infusion or independent water intake reduce this to at least 50%.
The weighed powder is dissolved in a premeasured amount of lukewarm water. This mixture should be stirred gently to prevent foaming. Divide the total amount of this mixture into 4 servings per day. The first day 30% of this is given and 60% on the second day. If there are no digestive problems, 100% can be administered from the third day onwards.

Veterinary advice
When using HP Enteral Nutrition, the horse gets all the nutrients it needs with the exception of fibre. The fibre content is very low, prolonged use is detrimental to intestinal health and intestinal flora. Therefore, the product is only suitable for temporary use.
