HP Electrolytes+ is a complementary feed for horses to supplement the daily electrolyte requirements and to compensate for electrolyte loss during heavy sweating. It contains a combination of the minerals, sodium, potassium, chloride, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. The proportions are based on the daily requirements of horses and the composition of horse sweat. In addition, it contains the essential amino acids lysine and threonine that promote muscle recovery after exercise. The added dextrose contributes to the conversion to glycogen and muscle glycogen recovery after exercise.

Every horse needs daily sodium, potassium, chloride, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium (the main electrolytes). HP Electrolytes+ is therefore suitable for daily use, and after intense training or during periods of heavy sweating such as high level competitions*, transport or extreme heat. The electrolytes speed up recovery after exercise. Fluid is also needed for recovery after exertion. In addition to replenishing a shortage of electrolytes, HP Electrolytes+ aims to make the horse drink. Absorption of fluid into the (muscle) cells also ensures better absorption of glucose into the muscles and thus restoration of muscle glycogen. The thirst stimulus will be stimulated by an increase in sodium and chloride in the blood plasma.
