Genta-ject 100 mg/ml is an injectable veterinary medicinal product containing gentamicin. It is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as susceptible Gram-positive bacteria. The product is registered for use in cattle and pigs.
Route of administration: intravenous or intramuscular.
Cattle and pigs:
0.4–1 ml per 10 kg body weight, once daily for 3–5 days.
In pigs, no more than 50 mg of gentamicin may be administered per injection site. For larger volumes, the total dose should be divided between multiple injection sites.
For accurate dosing, the animal's body weight should be determined as precisely as possible to avoid underdosing.
