HP Senior is well suited for older horses that have problems chewing and therefore lose weight. Aging horses are difficult to keep in good condition. This is usually related to worn out or missing teeth. Reduced muscle strength and subsequent difficulties chewing can also play a part. Diseases such as worm infestations or other circumstances (dominant horses in the herd) can also contribute to loss of body condition. 

The best way to keep your horse’s health and condition in check is to adapt its diet. HP Senior contains high quality ingredients that are easily absorbed and digested, even in horses that are not able to chew as well as they used to. It contains all necessary minerals, vitamins, and trace elements in optimal proportions for the older horse.

HP Senior is also suitable for horses that have undergone intensive dental treatments.

Ingredients
HP Senior contains elevated levels of copper, zinc, selenium and vitamin E. These are all important for the maintenance of a healthy immune system. Additional vitamin B, K, and C are necessary because of the possible decrease in endogenous production.

HP Senior also contains fibre from carefully selected sources such as the husk of linseed, oats and Lucerne. Because of their specific characteristics, these fibres work together to stimulate an active and healthy intestinal function. The gut microbiota is also stimulated by live yeast and special pectin fibres from added apple pulp.  Fructooligosaccharides (scFOS) have also been added because of their ameliorative effect on digestion and the gut microbiota. Finally, the high quality amino acids found in soy beans help protect against muscle wasting and senescence.
