HP Colostrum is a pure freeze-dried bovine colostrum powder (95%), combined with a prebiotic (TechnoYeast), developed to support a healthy start in life for newborn foals. This product provides an effective supplement to the mare's colostrum, which is essential for building the foal's immune system. The colostrum powder not only contains bioactive compounds but also a high concentration of Immunoglobulin G (IgG) (39%), one of the key antibodies that strengthen the foal’s immunity. Additionally, the colostrum is rich in protein. The prebiotic helps promote a healthy gut flora, facilitating the transition from a sterile digestive system to a rich, diverse microbiota. Therefore, this product is ideal for foals that need extra support in the first days of life, either in combination with natural mare's milk or HP Equimel.
HP Colostrum can also be used as an immunity booster for horses of any age. The immunological properties of HP Colostrum continue to support the horse's immune system even after the foal stage. By combining freeze-dried colostrum with a prebiotic, the developed immune system and microbiota are positively supported. HP Colostrum can be used for horses with temporarily or persistently reduced immunity due to illness, weather changes, or those undergoing intensive training.
Indications d'utilisation
For supplementation and support:
When the mare’s colostrum is of unknown or insufficient quality, not available in sufficient quantity, or not adequately absorbed by the foal, the colostrum intake can be supported by administering HP Colostrum when the foal is healthy[MB1] .
- Mix 90 g of HP Colostrum (± 7 scoops) with 100 to 150 ml of lukewarm water (42-45°C) until a paste-like consistency is formed. Administer the paste orally to the foal using a syringe (90 ml).
- Alternatively, mix 90 g of HP Colostrum (± 7 scoops) with 250 ml of lukewarm water and administer it using a bottle. Ensure the foal consumes the full dose.
*Note: The foal must first drink any available colostrum from the mare before HP Colostrum is administered. If the mare’s colostrum is unavailable, alternative treatment methods should be used according to veterinary advice
Horses and Ponies:
HP Colostrum can be added to the horse’s daily feed, to support the immune system.
- During periods of increased stress on the immune system (e.g., during intensive training): Horses: 2 times per day 25 g (± 2 scoops). / Ponies: 2 times per day 12,5 g (± 1 scoop).
- To maintain good immune function and support training condition: Horses: 1 time per day 25 g (± 2 scoops). / Ponies: 1 time per day 12,5 g (± 1 scoop).
