Black psyllium seeds expand when they come in contact with water and will produce mucilage. The Black psyllium is organic and high in quality, the product is free from insecticides, pesticides and heavy metals. It can be used to remove sand out of the gastrointestinal tract of horses. It forms a gelatinous mass when it comes into contact with water, in the intestines it binds accumulated sand to the intestinal contents and leaves the body when the horse defecates. Black psyllium seed is also extremely suitable for administration via a nasogastric tube. After the seeds come into contact with water, it takes a while before the psyllium seeds are transformed into a gelatinous mass. This delayed transformation reduces the risk of nasogastric tube obstruction during administration.

Indications d'utilisation
Dosage thérapeutique en cas de sable dans les intestins : 1 gramme de psyllium par kg de poids corporel du cheval pendant 7 à 10 jours. En cas de grandes quantités de sable dans l'intestin, la dose peut être doublée à 2 grammes de psyllium par kg de poids corporel.
Les chevaux sensibles aux coliques de sable peuvent recevoir 0,5 gramme de graines de psyllium par kg de poids corporel pendant 7 jours à titre préventif. Répétez ce protocole toutes les 4 semaines.
