Chorionic gonadotrophin is a glucoproteinic hormone formed in the woman placenta and mainly has luteotrophic activity /75% luteo-stimulant activity and 25% follicle-stimulant activity). In females, chorionic gonadrophin promotes the maturation of the Graaf follicles, the ovulation and the formation and persistence of corpus luteum. In males, it increases the androgen formation, enhances testicular and prostatic vigour and stimulates the descent of testicles to the bags.
