Pharmacological Properties

Chorionic gonadotrophin is a glucoproteinic hormone formed in the placenta which mainly has luteotrophic activity (75% luteo-stimulant activity and 25% follicle-stimulant activity). In females, chorionic gonadotrophin promotes the maturation of the Graaf follicles, ovulation and the formation and persistence of the corpus luteum. In males, it increases the androgen formation, enhances testicular and prostatic vigour and stimulates the descent of the testicles into the scrotum.

Can be administered to cattle, horses, swine, dogs and cats.

  • Fertility disorders of endocrin origin (anovulary cycle nymphomania, persistence of the corpus luteum)
  • Cryptorchidism.
  • Male frigidity.
  • Shortening the estrus cycle in the case of eczema, seborrea or alopecia, associated with hormonal disorders of sexual origin.
  • In laying hens, in cases of reduction or discontinuation of laying.
