What is Olimel Perifeer N4E?
Olimel Perifeer N4E is an emulsion for infusion containing parenteral nutrition. The bag has 3 compartments; the first compartment contains a glucose solution with calcium, the second compartment contains a lipid emulsion and the third contains an amino acid solution with various electrolytes.
How should Olimel Perifeer N4E be administered?
Olimel Perifeer N4E is an emulsion for infusion and should be administered intravenously. The solution should be given at room temperature and should not be reused.
The three compartments are separated by non-permanent welding seams. Before administering the emulsion the three compartments should be mixed together. This is done by rolling the bag up from the top until the seams open. After mixing, the emulsion should be homogenous and milk-like in appearance.
After mixing the three compartments the emulsion contains the following constituents:
Refined olive oil, refined soy oil, alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, proline, serine, threonine, tryptophan, tyrosine, valine, sodium acetate trihydrate, sodium glycerophosphate hydrate, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, calcium chloride dehydrate, glucose monohydrate.
