INTERNAL USE
For an internal cleansing treatment in horses, use twice daily two tablespoons of green clay and dogs half a tablespoon. Fine pure green clay is widely used for an internal cleaning treatment for the body to dispose of poison and waste. Use regular (2 x per year) or only when the animal is feeling bad and/or has regular problems that may come from a "full" trashcan (like mudfever, eczema, colds, infections, fungus, etc.). A cleansing treatment with green clay is supported by the addition of essential oils.
A course with green clay can not be applied in animals that are chipped (registration-chip) or have pins in the body. In addition, green clay may not be given internally to pregnant mares, horses with kidney problems, horses in heavy training or horses with physical defects. Preferably given only in consultation with or advice from a natural health therapist. Note: Green clay can in/decrease the effects of medicines.
EXTERNAL USE
Green clay is used external in cases of thick legs, wounds and to protect the skin of the tail and mane.
Use on wounds and damaged skin is not without risk and be used with care. If the clay remains to long waste from the wound can "set within" and cause an infection. The clay should never be longer than 12 hours on the area, the hardened clay should then be removed.
