Depocilline is a suspension for injection containing procaine benzylpenicillin. Penicillin is a bacteriocidal beta-lactam antibiotic which is active against mainly Gram-positive bacteria and some Gram-negative aerobes. It is sensitive to beta-lactamase (penicillinase) inactivation.
Indications
Cattle
Infections caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum, Pasteurella spp., Streptococcus spp., Haemophilus somnus, F. necrophorum, Actinobacillus spp., Actinomyces pyogenes or Clostridium spp..
Sheep
Infections caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum, Streptococcus spp., Actinomyces pyogenes, or Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.
Pigs
Infections caused by Pasteurella multocida, Streptococcus spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinomyces pyogenes, Staphylococcus spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae., or Clostridium spp..
Dogs and cats
Infections caused by Streptococcus spp., Pasteurella spp., or Fusobacterium necrophorum.
Instructions for use
Cattle: 1 ml/25 kg bodyweight per day for 3 days.
Sheep, pigs: 1 ml/20-25 kg bodyweight per day for 3 days.
Dogs, cats: 1 ml/10 kg bodyweight per day for 3-5 days.
