Glucose 2,5% & 0,45% NaCl Viaflo
Sodium Chloride 0.45 % w/v and Glucose 2.5% w/v solution is indicated for treatment of dehydration or hypovolaemia in cases where supply of water, sodium chloride and carbohydrates is required due to restriction of the intake of fluids and electrolytes by normal routes.
VIAFLO is a flexible plastic container fabricated from a multilayer sheeting (PL-2442) composed of Polypropylene (PP), Polyamide (PA) and Polyethylene (PE). The amount of water that can permeate from inside the container into the overwrap is insufficient to affect the solution significantly. Two different administration connectors are available with VIAFLO containers. The VIAFLO dripless access container (DAC) will not drip once the spike is removed. The non-DAC VIAFLO will drip once the spike is removed from the administration port.
Instructions for use
The choice of the specific sodium chloride and glucose concentration, dosage, volume, rate and duration of administration depends on the age, weight, clinical condition of the patient and concomitant therapy. It should be determined by a veterinarian. For patients with electrolyte and glucose abnormalities and for paediatric patients, consult a veterinarian experienced in intravenous fluid therapy.
