Alfaxan Multidose 10mg/ml
Alfaxan® is indicated for the induction and maintenance of anesthesia, and for induction of anesthesia followed by maintenance with an inhalant anesthetic, in cats and dogs.
- Alfaxalone produces anesthetic effects via enhancement of gamma-aminobutyric acid sub-type 1(GABAA) receptor-mediated neurotransmission. Alfaxalone’s enhancement of GABA’s effects prevents development of action potentials and stops impulse transmission.
- Alfaxalone is a neuroactive steroid molecule that does not bind to sex hormone, glucocorticoid or mineralcorticoid receptors.
- Contains a non-irritating preservative that allows the product to be used for up to 28 days after the vial is broached and stored at room temperature.
